Find your inner child! This aquatic playground will delight the smallest to the tallest! Church Beck is one of the Lake District's most famous and fabulous Ghyll Scrambles and for good reason. Hidden away in a rocky gorge you'll scramble, swim, jump and slide your way through crystal clear water on a journey you'll remember forever.

We tailor sessions to suit all ages:
Church Beck is a fantastic ghyll scramble suitable for all ages. We tailor sessions appropriately to suit different ages and abilities. Please note that all the sessions are the same length but use slightly different sections of the ghyll. For younger groups, we add more challenges and spend more time in the lower section of the gorge.
5yrs+ Young families Ghyll Scramble - This is a fun session in the lower section of the Ghyll; nicely paced for families with small children from 5 years old.
8yrs+ Ghyll Scramble - This takes place in the bottom section of the Ghyll and a portion of the top canyon section if it is appropriate to the group and water conditions.
14yrs+ Ghyll Scramble & Canyon - This session is more committing and enters the bottom section of the Ghyll and also the top canyon section if it is appropriate to the group and conditions.

We did the Church Beck ghyll scramble with our instructor Scott. We were part of a family group with ages ranging from 6-45 years. Scott had a wonderfully relaxed yet professional manner. He tailored our experience to meet the needs of everyone in the group; supporting the younger members while offering challenge for more experienced participants. He encouraged the children to take on leadership roles and be as independent as possible which, as a parent, was wonderful to see.
The organisation and kit was fantastic.
We just loved every minute of it!
